Biography

Marzia Sangari grew up drawing and painting, fascinated with shapes and forms in nature. But like so many children, she was discouraged from pursuing art as a career and instead, followed the academic track so many parents encourage of their offspring. It was only in her adult years that she returned to her passion of painting, and now holds an even deeper appreciation to be able to return to her canvases on a daily basis.

She has always held a fascination with movement: “My work invariably features movement. Nothing is static. And movement isn’t so much about the simple concept of motion; movement means you’re alive, you’re going somewhere.”

Marzia has found self-discovery through painting. Each new project unveils another heretofore unseen portion of her personality. That said, “I don’t like to describe my works; I want to evoke thought in the viewer. The painting is what you see it as.”

She works mostly in oil, but also does some acrylic and mixed media.

Marzia currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, a voice-over actor, and her son, a classical pianist attending an arts college.
